Prayer Beads Ministry
Planting Seeds of Light
Rose City Park United Methodist Church’s Prayer Beads Ministry offers people of all ages and spiritual backgrounds a simple way to create moments of peace, reflection, and connection in daily life.
The ministry began when church members made 300 nine-bead prayer sets for Christmas Eve worship. After receiving a positive response, the group expanded the project by creating prayer beads to leave throughout the community for others to discover.
Each set includes a message reminding the finder that the beads were made for them and may be used to connect with God, a Higher Power, or their own spiritual practice.
Prayer beads have been placed on park benches, along walking and biking paths, in laundry rooms, doctors’ offices, hospitals, and Little Free Libraries.
